Hi Amy...I've been looking around our web site and you certainly have done a great job with this.
A side note, I saw Ben this afternoon and yes I ordered the coffee last week...
And yes, you were right about clicking on special blends. These are all Bishop bagged coffee.
I will see you tomorrow afternoon, Ben and I are planning to be there for 4:30.
Later...

Well, one thing it is important to do is recognize which voices are loudest and why.
I mentioned to you yesterday that the DC diocese has put together a report on just who is funding the anti-gay clergy groups and I want to share it with anyone else who reads this:

Following the Money.

We need to open ourselves up to the community in radical acts of hospitality. We have to go beyond trying to get people to come to services or fundraising events. We need to offer people something they need. (and market the heck out if it.) We need to go where the neediest folks are and just start DOING.

It was a fun service today and I was impressed by Sarai's fiery preaching. I think we can develop a worship style that is exciting and passionate and relevant and still true to our Anglican roots. I am a liturgical creature, I must say, rooted in the prayer book!

Because the Episcopal Church had a very successful ministry to the Native Americans-- the Sioux and others-- who live there on reservations. The Episcopal counties are Indian reservations. I know-- I lived in North Dakota for seven years. The Episcopal Church can be proud of our ministry to and with native Americans. We even have some (male and female) who are Bishops today.

Probably that is so that people recognize that their abilities come from God rather than from themselves....

Besides, love is blind. There is no other "job" (vocation) in which your "employer" asks you to work because of your potential rather than your actual abilities.

Hey hey! Father Perry is blogging!

I just want to say that as strange as it sounds, the Holy Spirit speaks through computer code just as surely as through other, more traditional means. I have felt the sure, steady hand of God guiding me through this process of developing an electronic home for our parish, even through the darkest nights of mysterious error messages!
