"Feeding Body and Soul" is the name we have given to this ministry we are starting in downtown Webster. We originally intended it to be a ministry to the homeless, but we have discovered that it may be just as fitting for, and needed by folks who do have a roof over their heads. We know that there are many who do not feel comfortable walking into a church, but who are in dire need of the mercy, compassion and hope that is found in hearing the Word of God, partaking of Holy Communion, and sharing in the fellowship of a meal. Our message is: Come as you are. No need to be dressed up. No need to bring money. No need to know the church "rules." Just come and be fed.
If it is God's will, on Sunday, February 9th at 1:00 p.m. a large white canopy will be standing in the center of the Webster First Federal Parking lot next door to our church. Under the canopy, Pastor Janice will be celebrating a very brief service of Holy Eucharist, followed by the distribution of a simple lunch to anyone who stops by to hear the Word of God, and partake of the Sacrament. Our hope is that the parking lot will be filled, and that, lacking the miraculous "loaves and fishes" abilities of Jesus, we will need to run back into the church to make more sandwiches because there are so many people.
